The pandemic has created an economic crisis that has affected businesses and industries around the world. Companies in various sectors have been forced to lay off employees to adjust to new market conditions or stay afloat. The ongoing layoffs have become a common trend in the global economy, impacting workers and businesses alike.

Oracle Cerner is the latest company to initiate a new round of layoffs as part of its restructuring plan. The move seems to be in line with Oracle Corp.'s efforts to enhance operational efficiencies after acquiring Cerner Corp. in fiscal year 2022. This information has been obtained from SEC filings.

The exact number of employees impacted by the latest round of layoffs at Oracle Cerner is uncertain. As of Friday morning, there was no Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice filed with Missouri or Kansas.

Additionally, representatives from Oracle were unavailable for comment.

On Thursday, several Oracle Cerner employees were informed that their employment would come to an end on March 31. Some of these employees shared on social media that they were summoned to unexpected meetings with executives where they were informed of the job cuts.

According to a comment on TheLayoff.com and some commenters on Reddit, the layoffs at Oracle Cerner were speculated to affect around 10% of the company's workforce.

Prior to this, Oracle Cerner had approximately 11,900 full-time employees in the Kansas City region and approximately 28,000 employees globally.
