MVGX Holdings, the parent of Singapore-based FinTech company and digital green exchange MVGX, providing end-to-end Carbon Software-as-a-Service solutions, has announced the appointment of Meyer Frucher as Vice Chairman.

A financial services and public sector veteran, Sandy, who earlier worked as the Vice Chairman of NASDAQ for over 15 years, also comes with decades of expertise from his time as Chairman and CEO of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.

Sandy's appointment is seen as key to realising the company's goals towards reaching targets of the global carbon infrastructure network with national registries, trading platforms, clearing platforms, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, as MVGX continues to establish itself as the nexus for the global carbon market.

During his stint with NASDAQ, which he joined in 2008, Sandy also acted as a senior advisor to the group’s senior leadership team on a broad range of industry and regulatory matters, including sustainability.

His joining the firm came after its strategic acquisition of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, where he served as Chairman and CEO for over a decade.

On his appointment, Sandy Frucher said, “As regulators and other industry stakeholders grapple with the complexities of the carbon market, there is a pressing need for a global interconnected carbon service infrastructure compatible with national registries, as well as trading and clearing platforms, in order to enable governments, investors, and businesses to meet their net-zero targets."

"I’m thrilled to be joining the team at MVGX, guiding them as they realise this very vision.”

Meanwhile, MVGX Executive Chairman and Co-Founder Bo Bai expressed his pleasure over the appointment.

“With his long-standing industry expertise, I believe Sandy will play a vital role in setting us on the right path as we build an interconnected carbon infrastructure system in addition to operating a green exchange,” Bai said.
