GSK Group has appointed Hassan Fahmi as the Managing Director to oversee business operations in Egypt, effective immediately.

In his new role, Hassan succeeds Dr Mohamed El-Dababy, who is moving on to assume a global position at GSK’s headquarters in London. Hassan joined the company as the General Manager for Egypt in October of last year, bringing over 30 years of leadership experience to this position. His core competencies include communication, business strategy, executive management, analytical skills, FMCG, marketing planning and management, and business development.

Hassan’s appointment reflects the company's ongoing commitment to developing its team by incorporating individuals with extensive local and international experience in the pharmaceutical industry. It also underscores the company's dedication to providing opportunities for outstanding individuals to grow and thrive. The company aims to support the long-term pharmaceutical market in Egypt and offers opportunities for individuals to continue their successful and evolving careers.

Before joining GSK, Hassan worked with Novo Nordisk as Vice President and General Manager in Vietnam and Egypt. He also served as the Associate Marketing Director at Juhayna Food Industries, Marketing and PR Director at Pharos Holding for Financial Investments, and Director of Advertising and Communication at Americana Foods. Additionally, he worked with Founoon, Final Cut Film Production, and Procter & Gamble at the beginning of his career.

On the academic front, Hassan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from The American University in Cairo and a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering from Kuwait University.
