With the aim of bolstering Hyundai's global position in future mobility solutions and innovations, a total of 252 executives, including 6 senior leaders, have been promoted and appointed.

Hyundai Motor Group has announced key leadership appointments, with Brian Latouf appointed as the Group President and Global Chief Safety and Quality Officer, Dong Seock Lee as President of Hyundai Motor Company, Yun Goo Kim as President and CEO of Hyundai AutoEver, Hyung Keun Bae as President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Securities, Byeong Ku Jeon as Head of Hyundai Card and Hyundai Commercial, and Hae In Kim as the Head of HR for Hyundai Motor Company, with immediate effect.

These senior leadership appointments aim to bolster the group's global position in future mobility solutions and innovations.

Kim, who recently served the BAT Group as the CHRO, brings over 25 years of HR expertise. In her previous roles, she worked with Samsung Life Insurance, PwC Consulting, and Aon Hewitt. Her core competencies include talent strategy, culture, diversity & inclusion, organizational effectiveness, HR consulting, HRBP, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, employee branding, compensation and benefits, HR transformation and change management, and recruitment.

Assuming his new role, Latouf will lead global safety and quality for Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia vehicles. He will be responsible for the entire Quality Division, including processes within R&D and quality gates in preparation for vehicle launches. He will be based in California, working with the group's global headquarters in Seoul and STIL in Michigan.

As the President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, Lee will head the Domestic Productions that reached a historic capacity of 1.86 million units in 2023 under his leadership. He will continue to play a pivotal role in establishing a stable relationship with labour.

With considerable expertise in organizational systems and work processes, Kim will further strengthen Hyundai AutoEver and its software capabilities.

On the other hand, Bae will focus on bolstering Hyundai Motor Securities's competitiveness and preemptive risk management as the President and CEO.

Jeon, associated with the company since 1991, will head the Corporate Management Unit and contribute his risk management expertise towards sustainable long-term growth.

The appointments and promotions for the second half of the year 2023 include a total of 252 executives from the Group’s affiliates, the largest number until now. "Demonstrating the Group’s focus on future technology and business, 30% of the appointments are in areas such as R&D, new businesses, and manufacturing. Among the 197 newly appointed executives, next-generation leaders in their 40s comprised 38%, a number which has continuously grown over the years,” stated the group in an official announcement."
