Paradox appoints former HR practitioner Adam Godson as CEO

Adam Godson has advanced to the position of Chief Executive Officer after previously holding roles as President and Chief Product Officer at Paradox. The company specialises in Conversational AI and aids in streamlining the hiring processes for McDonald’s, Nestlé, CVS Health, General Motors, and Marriott International.

This transition sees company founder Aaron Matos assume the position of Executive Chairman. “Serving Paradox continues to be the ultimate honour and I couldn’t be prouder of the progress we’ve made toward that goal. As we look to our next chapter, Adam is the ideal steward for Paradox’s future. He’s passionate about recruiting and HR and he cares deeply about the people he serves. Adam is a great partner and we share an obsession for transforming this industry — and our clients’ organisations — for the better. I couldn’t be more excited for our clients and Team Paradox,” said Matos. “

Having commenced his career as an HR professional and previously holding the role of Chief Technology Officer at Cielo, Godson joined Paradox in 2020 as Chief Product Officer. His tenure saw a swift rise, being promoted to President in 2023, where he spearheaded Paradox’s global product and engineering divisions.

Under his leadership, the company experienced exponential growth, surpassing a 1,000% increase, acquiring hundreds of clients, earning multiple awards (including numerous HR Executive Product of the Year accolades), and concluding 2023 with its most successful quarter to date.

In 2023, Paradox stood out as one of the first adopters of Workday's AI Marketplace, a select collection of AI and ML applications within the Workday ecosystem. Additionally, the company received recognition as a recipient of the Workday Partner Innovation Award for its dedication to enhancing the success of Workday clients.

Godson expressed his greatest pride in the team Paradox has assembled and the significant outcomes it delivers for clients. This includes impactful transformations for renowned companies such as General Motors, Nestlé, Compass Group, and McDonald's.

“It’s an incredible privilege to follow Aaron as CEO and lead Paradox on our next phase of innovation and growth,” said Godson. “We’ve seen the impact that Conversational AI can have on our clients and we’re proud of building a different kind of software company — where care for our clients and the candidates we serve is what matters most. I’m excited to carry forward that culture, while continuing to have access to Aaron’s experience and mentorship as we bring new products to market and drive innovation for our clients.”

“Paradox has built a company that’s revolutionizing our industry,” said Joe Shaker, President of Shaker Recruitment Marketing and long-time partner of Paradox.

In his role as Executive Chairman, Matos will transition to an advisory and mentorship capacity for Godson, Paradox's Board of Directors, and the executive team. His focus will be on shaping and enhancing the company's strategic vision and collaborating closely with the product team to drive future innovations.

Mike Gregoire, who holds positions on the boards of AMD and Smartsheets, will remain as the Lead Independent Director of Paradox's Board of Directors. Gregoire, formerly the CEO of Taleo and CA Technologies, is also the founding partner of investment firm Brighton Park Capital, which spearheaded Paradox's Series B investment round.
