Macy is planning to hire about 80,000 seasonal employees ahead of this year's holiday season.

The company says it is hosting a national hiring event on October 24 at all its stores to interview potential candidates, and will schedule phone interviews for online applicants.

The company was mentioned saying that many of the new hires will work at the store's fulfillment centers. About 1,000 new workers will help support the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and other holiday events.30,000 of the jobs will be available in fulfilment centers in Goodyear, Arizona; Cheshire, Connecticut; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Portland, Tennessee; Martinsburg, West Virginia; Sacramento, California; Houston; Secaucus, New Jersey; and Joppa, Maryland.

Macy's will offer a mix of full-time, part-time and flexible positions. More than 8,000 seasonal workers became permanent Macy's employees after the 2018 holidays.

Seasonal workers get a "competitive hourly rate" paid weekly, a 20% seasonal discount and a quarterly bonus, according to the company.

There will be a national hiring event on Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. held at all stores, call centers and distribution/fulfillment centers. Interested candidates can apply 24/7 at here.
