iPrice appoints Paul Brown-Kenyon its new CEO

E-commerce platform iPrice Group announced this week that it has appointed Paul Brown-Kenyon as group CEO. Brown-Kenyon, who was formerly group President and COO, takes over from co-founder David Chmelař, who will continue as executive chairman.

Chmelař said of the change: "With rapid growth in our team size, client base and partnerships, changes to the management team are critical for our continued success. Paul’s experience in building tech companies in Asia is a perfect match to the growing demand on operational excellence at iPrice."

Before joining iPrice in 2018, Brown-Kenyon spent 13 years with Malaysian communications satellite operator MEASAT Global, including five years as CEO. He was also formerly with McKinsey. His new appointment comes alongside an e-commerce boom across Southeast Asia, with online retail spiking as consumers turn to online shopping during the lockdown period.

As the new CEO, Brown-Kenyon will be expected to direct the company's growth in response to the influx of new customers. He said: "My primary focus will be on helping the organization scale successfully to meet the rapidly expanding needs of our users, and of our merchants and partners looking to tap into the e-commerce opportunity. In addition to focus on operational excellence and organizational strength, we are focused on building on the organization’s culture to make iPrice a “Great Place to Work” for the region’s best e-commerce talent."

iPrice's Southeast Asia and Hong Kong portals saw a 60 percent increase in traffic over the previous two months, and the company also raised $10 million in Series B funding earlier this year.
