UAC welcomes its first-ever CEO, Jenny Bax

For the first time, the Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC), has welcomed a CEO. In a statement, the company announced appointing Jenny Bax to the role, starting at the end of this month.

“On behalf of the UAC board, we are thrilled to have Jenny Bax join as the inaugural CEO. A respected industry leader, Jenny has vast national experience across broker, agency, distribution, and business development,” said UAC chair Heath Amber.

Bax’s role as CEO will replace the general manager position held by William Legge, who stepped down at the end of last year. Legge's retirement ended a 60-year career in insurance.

Bax comes with three decades of experience in the industry and has a “wealth of insurance sector knowledge” including leading distribution, underwriting, and operational teams.

Besides this, Bax is also a founding member and current chair of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance’s (ANZIIF) General Insurance Faculty Advisory Board (GI FAB).

In 2022, she re-joined Ansvar Insurance as national development manager. Prior to UAC, Bax was associated with Allianz as general manager for underwriting agencies and has held senior positions at QBE.
