Fusion Risk Management, Inc., a provider of business continuity services, recently announced the appointment of Katie Burgoon as Chief Human Resources Officer. Burgoon will be reporting to and working closely with Mike Campbell, Fusion’s CEO.

Burgoon, in her new executive leadership role, will manage diverse roles such as performance, talent and organizational management, success planning, diversity and inclusion as well as the learning and development sector of the company. Thrilled about joining Fusion, Katie Burgoon is eager to extend her skills and knowledge in human capital strategy as well as be part of the team of diverse and talented members. Moreover, given that the company is focused on skills and technological enhancement, she hopes that stepping into a leadership role, she can help the platform become a more people-centric platform.

With over 15 years of experience in HR,  Burgoon has served in various leadership, management and strategic roles. Through these, she has gained expertise in developing innovative employee culture, global human capital management, and nurturing effective human resource approaches. Prior to this she was at Zego as their Chief Human Resources Officer. She has also held leadership roles at Infinium Capital Management, Trading Technologies, Citadel, and Cameo. 

Mike Campbell is certain that Burgoon’s experience and skills will significantly enhance HR practices. Her past experience with infusing innovation, and energy into comprehensive human resources initiatives is what Fusion is counting on to build its shared values and culture. 

Burgoon has done most of her education in the United States. She did her Bachelor's from Columbia College, Chicago and later did a Master’s in Sociology from Loyola University of Chicago. She also completed her Ph.D in ethnographic interviewing, organizational development, and work culture from Loyola University of Chicago.
