Singapore based Skills verification platform Indorse has opened its new corporate headquarters in London. The startup uses its community of coding experts to independently assess a candidate’s expertise and then creates an immutable record of the results on a blockchain. Companies hiring talent then know that the candidate has proven coding skills, so maximizing the probability of a successful hire.

Gaurang Torvekar, CEO of Indorse, commented, “Opening an office in London is a strategic decision and something that we had planned even in our early days. We’ve come to London to help facilitate industry growth by giving businesses an element of certainty to their recruitment efforts. Regardless of a company’s size, hiring someone who isn’t quite fit for the job can be a costly mistake – especially when working against development deadlines or racing competition.”

He added that London and the UK remain one of the biggest tech hubs in the world and the startup believes that London is a vital location for the future of its business.

The move comes at a time when four-fifths of the UK’s tech leaders remain bullish on hiring top tech talent, according to a ‘Tech Tracker Survey’ by Studio Graphene. However, business leaders were concerned about securing the right talent, with 66 percent citing the lack of suitable individuals as a potential barrier to growth.

The Singapore-based tech company which uses its blockchain-based platform and community of industry experts to help companies worldwide find the best tech talent most recently partnered with Grab, Southeast Asia’s largest ride-hailing app, for its hackathon-style recruitment drive.

Within six months, Indorse has assessed over 4,500 tech candidates and delivered 22,000 code reviews.

The expansion comes almost six months after Indorse raised $6.5 Mn in a funding round from Brand Capital, the ad-for-equity investment arm of The Times Group. The funding included an initial investment of $2 Mn as a convertible note, with a valuation of $15 Mn, with the option of a further tranche of $4.5 Mn. The startup is banking on blockchain to utilize it in the HR tech space, a technology which hold much potential for the future.
