JLL launches 3-year talent development to create job opportunities

Global and Commercial Real Estate Company JLL recently announced the flagship of the three-year Future Skills programme worth S $2.6 million. It is a talent development program to fulfil JLL’s vision to create a strong and huge local talent pool and increase the horizons of job and career opportunities for Singaporeans in an interconnected, globalized world.

The Future Skill program will help JLL to build a robust, extensive and resilient workforce and put into place the upskilling and reskilling mandates of the National Jobs Council.

Helen Snowball, Head of Human Resources, JLL Asia Pacific, says, “Real estate is an exciting and increasingly tech-enabled field and we see tremendous potential in tapping into Singapore’s highly skilled workforce to fuel the growth of our business here.”

With the Future Skill Program JLL aims to enable the creation of a body of interns, graduates and apprentices whose services will be totally dedicated to the company and also recruit employees in the industry’s workforce. JLL has created three programmes for an internship, client experience (including a 2-month boot camp for graduates) and functional expertise for graduates. It is also collaborating with local tertiary and vocational institutions to provide exclusive offers of internship opportunities and entry-level positions to 122 local undergraduates, graduates and technical associates over the course of three years.

In addition, JLL will encapsulate retraining and skill enhancement initiatives and plans in customer service, technical and engineering roles to provide employment and jobs to mid-career professionals from neighbouring countries. The skill enhancement programme will transform technicians from other fields into engineers and facility managers, and guest ambassadors and facilities executives transitioning to more senior roles in facilities management.

“We look forward to welcoming new employees who will bring fresh perspectives and expertise and ultimately improve the services we provide – whether it’s sales, workplace experience, facilities management or engineering,,” said Chris Archibold, Country Head, JLL Singapore commented on the new training programs.

With the skilling program, JLL aspires to enable Singaporean employees with new and advanced professional skills which the company requires in this age of global competition and digitalization. The training will impart the ideals of inclusive leadership, resilience and wellbeing; innovation and human-centred design; sales and business development; and proptech, data and analytics, among others.
