Global attribution and marketing analytics company, AppsFlyer, has appointed Sam Chiu as the new Senior Director of Marketing, Asia-Pacific (APAC). Earlier this year, the company also hired ex-Oracle Sales Vice President Joen van Driel, as VP of Sales, APAC. These key hires made this year underline AppsFlyer’s commitment to the region and its vision to establish a prominent position in the marketing attribution and analytics space.
An ex Marketing Director at SAS, APAC, Chiu brings in close to 2 decades of experience and expertise in strategic technology marketing to the role.
As part of his key responsibilities at AppsFlyer, Chiu will lead the company’s go-to-market strategy for 22+ markets across South Asia (including India & Pakistan), ASEAN, ANZ, Japan and Korea from AppsFlyer’s SEAPAC hub in Bangkok.
He will be expected to drive brand engagement strategies, increase the user base for the platform significantly, and devise promotion and expansion strategies for the company, while engaging with high performance teams across countries.
Chiu will report to Ronen Mense, President and Managing Director, APAC at AppsFlyer. On Chiu’s addition to the team Mense says, “Throughout the last twelve months we have continued to focus on growing AppsFlyer, not only in APAC, but globally. In a crucial time of AppsFlyer’s expansion, Sam brings in a wide range of experience, having worked at an array of established players in the industry. His role will drive key business goals in the region.”

Chiu has extensive experience in digital transformation, campaign management and technology marketing, and has formerly worked for a number of agencies, including iProspect, Microsoft, Yahoo, and B2C & B2B advertisers such as DFS/LVMH and SAS across New York, Boston and Hong Kong.
He has also worked for omni-channel strategy implementation for AppsFlyer’s Southeast Asia-Pacific (SEAPAC) team and has driven campaign results for various Fortune 500 companies. He completed his MBA from Clark University, Worcester in the US.
AppsFlyer, a global leader in mobile attribution and marketing measurement, was founded over ten years ago with a mission to help marketers succeed. The company recently released its 2021 edition of The State of Finance App Marketing, which detailed the demand for FinTech apps. Overall, they experienced a 132 per cent leap globally in downloads.
