UserTesting brings on former Workfront CFO

Customer behavior analytics platform UserTesting this week announced the appointment of Jon Pexton as Chief Financial Officer, taking over from Tien-Anh Nguyen who departed the role last month. The company has grown rapidly over the last few years, including 50 percent headcount growth and a US$100 million funding round in 2020, and Pexton is expected to manage its financial operations as it continues expanding internationally.

Pexton has almost two decades of senior finance leadership experience in technology companies. Prior to joining UserTesting, he was Chief Financial Officer of SaaS-based enterprise work management platform Workfront, leaving a few months after the company was acquired by Adobe at the end of 2020. Before Workfront, Pexton was CFO of fintech company Progrexion and online forex trading company Interbank FX. He has also held finance leadership positions at CallidusCloud, Vitria Technology and Remedy Software.

Calling Pexton an “outstanding leader”, UserTesting CEO Andy MacMillan said he would be a good fit for the executive team as the company moves into its next growth stage: “We are at an exciting time here at UserTesting, and Jon’s outstanding background in helping high growth technology companies scale and operate at a higher level is an ideal match for our current growth trajectory.”
