Her new role would involve leading HR business partners while also driving strategic HR initiatives that support business in the region. She will be based in Singapore, the APAC HQ for the visual analytics software company and report to Michelle Yetman, Executive Vice President HR. The region, being a dynamic and growing one for the business, she would also be instrumental in providing geography-specific support and counsel.
Saxena was hopeful and driven as she said, “Coming into an employee-oriented and performance-driven organization, the people agenda will be a key focus for me.”
She added that her focus would also be on accelerating development and enabling better retention of the employees with the aim to drive performance. Leading the HR domain would also involve compensation management and the promotion of initiatives across the organization to tap into the total people potential.
The year 2019 for Tableau is a year aimed to is to nurture the business and augment the momentum with an injection and maintenance of the best suited talent. Saxena said that attracting and managing the right talent requires enhancing the compensation and benefits model. Besides that, in today’s globalized talent landscape, she stresses on the need to prioritize diversity and inclusion. Pooling in on her experience over the years and insight into HR and the APAC region, Tableau must be looking forward to their next phase of growth and transformation.
On a separate note, with companies pushing more women leaders to the top of the HR ladder, is the need for gender neutrality and diversity truly being internalized or is it still an attempt at ticking off a box on the best practices list?
