HQ Capital appoints Michael Hu as MD & Head of Asia; Sets up new office in Singapore

HQ Capital, a global private equity firm, has announced the appointment of Michael Hu as Managing Director and Head of Asia, along with the establishment of a new office in Singapore.

With these developments, the private equity firm aims to strengthen its position in Asia to cater to its growing investor base in the region. Michael, who brings over 15 years of industry experience, will oversee investment and business development activities in Asia, while also enhancing the expertise and capabilities of the firm’s senior investment team. Additionally, he will be a part of the company's global executive committee.

Before his appointment, Michael worked with Ardian as Managing Director and also served as Principal at Greenhill & Co. in Singapore and Hong Kong. On the academic front, he holds bachelor's degrees in law and commerce from the University of Melbourne.

Welcoming Michael to the executive team, Marc Brugger, CEO, and CFO of HQ Capital, said, “We are delighted to have Michael join our management team. Michael has a great track record in private equity investing, both on a primary and secondary basis, as well as in co-investments, and possesses a strong network in the region.
