Honeywell has announced the appointment of Khaled Hashem as the President of the Middle East and Africa region, effective immediately.

In his new role, Hashem will oversee the operations of the recently consolidated MEA region for the engineering and technology firm. He will spearhead the company’s global alignment with the three megatrends of automation, the future of aviation, and the energy transition. Simultaneously, he will be responsible for shaping a diversified portfolio of products and solutions tailored for the region, driving customer engagements, along with the talent and leadership pipeline.

Before his appointment, Hashem oversaw the operations of the Egypt region as the President of North Africa for the company. He joined Honeywell in 2016, having served as a Board Member and Chairperson of AmCham Egypt for over five years. Prior to that, he worked as a Board Member overseeing the Utilities and Infrastructure of The Sovereign Fund of Egypt. Additionally, he served with GE Power and Water as the Country Manager of the Middle East and with GE Oil and Gas as the Country Manager of Egypt and Jordan.

On the academic front, Hashem holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and Management, along with a Master's degree in Research Methodology and Quantitative Methods from IE Business School. He also possesses an MBA degree and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Sciences (Construction Engineering) from The American University of Cairo.

Welcoming Hashem to his new role, Anant Maheshwari, President, and CEO of High Growth Regions at Honeywell said, “I am immensely proud of our presence and impact across the Middle East and Africa region, and I am excited about what more we can achieve as we expand our focus on the three megatrends. Honeywell continues to be well-positioned for growth in the region, and I am confident that Khaled will capitalise on these opportunities to further expand and embed our business.”

Sharing his plans for the new region, Hashem said, “The impact of Honeywell’s products, tools, and technology is part of almost every facet of our daily life. To have the opportunity to lead such a historic organisation across this region is something I am extremely proud of. The work we are doing on a daily basis with our customers is having a profound impact on the local industry, and I am excited to continue taking this forward.”
