Citigroup has named Mark Woodruff as its chief executive. Woodruff, who has been with Citigroup for 20 years, will also serve as head of Citi's Australian and New Zealand cluster.

Earlier, Citibank announced the appointment of Matt Read as head of retail banking, effective April 17.

In March this year, Citi announced that it had reached an agreement with Axis Bank for the sale of Citi’s consumer businesses in India.

In another development, Citi was recognised as the number one affordable housing lender in the United States for 2022, according to Affordable Housing Finance magazine's annual ranking.

Citi Community Capital provided approximately $6 billion to finance multifamily affordable housing rental projects in 2022 throughout the U.S., and over $7.4 billion to finance multifamily affordable housing, education, and other community development projects in 2022.
