Sai Prasad Somayajula is a banker with 26 years banking experience. Sai started his career with Andhra Bank as a clerical secretary in 1988. He also worked in State Bank of Travancore between 1990 to 1995 as an Assistant Manager in branch banking. Sai’s longest stint has been with ICICI Bank since 1995 where he continues to work till date. Sai worked in various positions in ICICI Bank, starting from Branch Operations Manager, a Systems Administrator, promoted to Branch Manager of a small branch, followed by a large size branch, moved on as Regional Manager – Branch Banking. Sai also headed Customer Service and Functional Training for branch banking group in ICICI Bank. Currently based in Toronto, Canada, Sai is working as Assistant General Manager and Head of Operations of ICICI Bank Canada since 2007, besides overseeing the operations of ICICI Bank Limited, New York branch. Besides his core function of business operations management, Sai likes to collaborate with cross functional groups in large migration projects and transition management. Sai believes he is passionate about training and development, and keenly follows emerging developments in banking technology, compliance, operations and risk management. Sai credits Toronto Public Library for driving his reading habit with their envious collection of books. Sai likes the investigative journalism of Malcolm Gladwell, enlightening philosophy of Eckhart Tolle and the emphatic messages of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev.
