HackerU acquires Cybint, rebrands itself ThriveDX

Florida based digital skill and cybersecurity institute, HackerU earlier this week announced its first acquisition along with a rebranding. HackerU, a 15 year old platform which provides digital workforce training to individuals across Asia, Europe and the US, has acquired global SaaS-based cyber educational platform, Cybint, for US$50mn. It is rebranding itself as ThriveDX.

Following the acquisition, HackerU/ThriveDX is projected to have a greater geographic footprint and a broader range of B2B offerings. The move towards inorganic growth is in line with the steeply increased demand for cybersecurity talent worldwide. Figures from the International Information System Security Certification Consortium show that in 2020, a total of 3.1 million cybersecurity vacancies were left unfilled, due to lack of skills and under-qualified employees.

ThriveDX will be able to use Cybint's platform to extend its digital skills training programmes to  more enterprises, while also expanding its distribution capabilities globally.

Commenting on the acquisition and rebranding, Dan Vigdor, Executive Chairman and Co-founder, HackerU (above, left) said that ThriveDX will be able to fill the gap in the cybersecurity talent market. "The pandemic accelerated a huge transformation across the global workforce, leaving companies in dire need of workers with specific skills — and job candidates in need of training," he said.

Roy Zur, Founder and CEO of Cybint, said that Cybint will support HackerU by enhancing and developing SaaS training solutions with special emphasis on cyber security and corporate training. Cybint  will further support HackerU with additional partnerships.
