Refinitiv reveals the list of top 100 most diverse and inclusive companies in the world

Refinitiv, the global provider of financial markets data and infrastructure has revealed the  latest 2019 top 100 most diverse and inclusive organizations globally, ranked based on the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) index.

The D&I Index measures the relative performance of more than 7,000 companies that represent 70 percent of global market cap across over 400 environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data points. The companies are scored across four main pillars: diversity, inclusion, people development, and controversies.

Launched in 2016, the D&I index ranks the top 100 publicly traded companies globally, as measured by 24 metrics across four categories that include 'Diversity', 'Inclusion', People Development', and 'News Controversies'. An index weighting is calculated according to metrics on how important individual companies are in the market and how they compare to peers.

Only companies with scores across all four pillars are assigned an overall score (the average of the pillar scores). The top 100 ranked companies with the best overall scores are then selected for the index.

The pharmaceutical industry led the pack this year, with a total of 13 firms making the list, followed by banking, investment services and insurance with 11; telecommunications services with nine; and personal and household products and services with seven.
