Johnson Controls appoints Marlon Sullivan as CHRO

Johnson Controls announced on 1 October that Marlon Sullivan had been appointed Chief Human Resources Officer with immediate effect, taking over from Lynn Minella who had announced her retirement earlier this year at age 63. Minella will stay on through the end of 2021 and work with Sullivan on the handover and transition.

Sullivan has almost 20 years' experience in human resources. He joins Johnson Controls from Delta Airlines, where he was Senior Vice President, Human Resources. Prior to Delta, he held a variety of global HR leadership roles with Abbott Laboratories, covering at various points compensation and benefits, talent and development, and talent acquisition. He also spent several years with Home Depot as a leader of staffing operations.

He is based in the US and reports to Johnson Controls Chairman and CEO George Oliver.

Oliver said that Sullivan brings "exciting skills, experience and dynamism" that will drive Johnson Controls' talent strategies and high-performance culture. "Marlon will be responsible for all elements of our employee experience, including talent acquisition and retention, leadership development, our critically important Diversity & Inclusion strategy, total rewards, and learning and development," he added.
