Credit Suisse Singapore CEO Wong Chien Chien quits

Swiss financial services company Credit Suisse Group has once again been hit by the departure of a senior employee. Wong Chien Chien, CEO of Credit Suisse Singapore, has quit the bank.

The departure of  Wong, who has been associated with Credit Suisse Group for more than 30 years,  came after Asia-Pacific Vice Chairman of investment banking & capital markets, Zeth Hung, left the bank.

According to Bloomberg, Wong is leaving Credit Suisse Group to pursue outside interests. Rehan Anwer will succeed her. This will be an additional role for Rehan, who is currently serving Credit Suisse as CEO of Southeast Asia.

Wong started her career in 1992 with CS First Boston. She has played key leadership roles across Singapore, Hong Kong and New York.

Credit Suisse is under pressure after it suffered huge client withdrawals in October last year. In the initial wave of layoff, the company fired 2,700 global workforces in December, which included 540 job cuts in Switzerland and 200 in London.
