EY appoints new regional managing partner for ASEAN

Liew Nam Soon has been appointed as the new ASEAN regional managing partner for EY, the leading firm in professional services.

Liew will be replacing Max Loh, who is stepping down from the role but staying on as the country managing partner for Singapore and Brunei.

Loh’s new responsibilities include acting as the global client service partner for major client accounts, to handle the Singapore and Brunei business and operations and ensuring that there is strategic leadership when it comes to market and people development.

Liew will be in-charge of 14 geographic markets which include the 10 countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in addition to Sri Lanka, Guam, Maldives, and the North Mariana Islands, according to media reports.

As a part of EY’s APAC Area Operating Executive, which happens to be the firm’s highest level of decision-making leadership body in the region, Liew will be responsible for strategy execution.

While at EY, Liew previously served as the Asian regional markets leader. Prior to that role, Liew worked with other financial institutes across Southeast Asia in the capacity of the ASEAN financial services organizational leader. He will begin his new role as the ASEAN regional managing partner, starting from July 1.
