Chubb hires Margaret Peloso as global climate officer

Chubb, which often speaks of its renewed commitment to global climate issues, appointed Margaret Peloso as Senior Vice President and global climate officer.

She will also act as the Executive Director of the Chubb Charitable Foundation.

Through industry institutions and international organisations, Chubb is engaged in research and advocacy on climate issues, both internally and externally. The appointment assumes significance in light of the increasing focus on climate issues.

"I am delighted to welcome Maggie to Chubb," Evan G. Greenberg, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer said.

Earlier, Peloso was integrally associated with Vinson & Elkins. She served as the law firm's lead sustainability partner with responsibility for integrating sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors across its portfolio.

In the newly created role of global climate officer, effective January 16, 2023, Peloso will have responsibility for Chubb's climate-related strategies, including business and public policy initiatives, as Chubb continues to implement realistic, science-based responses to climate change.
