Financial services group Sun Life has announced the appointment of Chris Wei in the newly-created role of Chief Client and Innovation officer. He would be reporting to Kevin Strain, President and CEO of Sun Life.

His experience in business transformation initiatives and product and channel development will play a pivotal role in driving growth and bringing our Client Impact strategy to life. His expertise in insurance, wealth management and banking will be a valued asset for our team," said Kevin Strain.
Wei has more than 25 years of experience as a global leader in the insurance and wealth management industries. A Toronto native, he has experience working with several well-known and well-respected brands in the financial services industry in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada, the Sun Life group said in a statement.
In his new role, Wei will be in charge of developing creative approaches to achieving the company's purpose, including the creation of quantifiable goals for helping its clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives while enhancing its ability to contribute to the development of a sustainable society and a healthier planet.

Wei will be part of Sun Life's leadership team and the chief sustainability officer, chief marketing officer, and head of corporate communications will all report to him. He will also headline the organisation's aim for a superior client experience with C-Suite support.
He counts All state Canada, AIG, AIA, Great Eastern Holdings and Aviva as his previous employers. He joined Sun Life from Blue Insurance Hong Kong where he was the chairman of the company.
Wei graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science (Honours) and will be based out of Singapore.
