EY announces 1,033 new partner promotions worldwide

The EY organisation announces that 1,033 people have been promoted to partner across the globe, the largest ever cohort of new partners. Women and the Assurance service line represent 32% and 33% of this year’s new partner class respectively, according to a company release. Similarly, emerging markets represent nearly a third of new partners, at 32%.

Carmine Di Sibio, EY Global Chairman and CEO, says, “Every one of these transformative leaders has brought EY values to life and their promotions are the result of their dedication to the EY purpose of building a better working world.”

On a geographical basis, EY member firms in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) had the largest proportion of new partners, with 423 promotions (41%) followed by the Americas area with 398 promotions (39%). 

New partners in EY member firms in the Asia-Pacific area totalled 212 (20%), including 50 from the ASEAN region, of which close to half (48%) were women.

Liew Nam Soon, EY Asean Regional Managing Partner, also Managing Partner for Singapore and Brunei, Ernst & Young Solutions LLP, says, “Each one of them has demonstrated dedication, resilience and agility in achieving this significant milestone. Collectively, they reflect our confidence in our future and our commitment to invest in future generations of transformative leaders.”

By service line, Assurance accounted for the largest proportion of partner promotions with 344 (33%). It was followed by Consulting, with 265 (26%); Strategy and Transactions, with 171 (16%) and Tax, with 235 (23%). Additionally, there are 18 new partners in business support (2%). The new partners will officially begin their new roles in early July.

EY has more than 312,250 people in more than 150 countries around the world.
