Uber appoints two women to top positions amid cultural crisis   

Uber Technologies Inc, a company that develops, markets and operates the Uber car transportation and food delivery mobile apps has recently hired two women executives in a leadership position. These appointments were made when Uber is awaiting the results of an investigation into the company’s culture by former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

Uber has appointed Apple Inc. executive Bozoma Saint John as Chief Brand Officer and Harvard Business School Professor Frances Frei who will serve as Senior Vice Present for leadership and strategy and will report to Chief Executive Officer Travis Kalanick.

Prior to joining Uber, Saint John joined Apple in April 2014 as head of global consumer marketing for iTunes and Beats Music. She previously worked as the head of music and entertainment marketing for PepsiCo Inc. Frei was consulting with Uber for several months and at HBS she worked on the process of fixing HBS’s gender-equity problem, and also on things like putting practices in place to put more women on boards.“My goal is to make this a world-class company that can be proud of itself in the end, rather than embarrassed,” Frei was quoted in a media

Earlier reported in People Matters, Eric Alexander, Uber APAC head fired for accessing rape victim’s medical records. The decision to terminate Eric was taken after two law firms Perkins Coie and Covington & Burling discovered that he has accessed medical records of the woman raped by Uber driver in India. The two law firms are leading the investigation related to sexual harassment claims against Uber.
