San Francisco-based live streaming audio service TuneIn has announced the appointment of Stefan Zilch as the new General Manager (GM) for Germany. As the company plans to expand globally, its first international office will be located in Berlin with Zilch leading the team.

With over 20 years' experience in the digital media industry, Zilch was formerly Managing Director for both Acast and Spotify. He is now expected to lead TuneIn's efforts to widen its regional broadcasting network within Germany, which is the company's largest listening market outside of the US. One key area of value he is expected to bring is the strengthening and creation of essential radio partnerships.

Richard Stern, CEO of TuneIn, said: “The German radio market is very vibrant, with over 500 unique radio stations reaching over 65 million listeners. Under Stefan’s leadership, TuneIn will deepen our ability to serve the German radio market and deliver localised value to our broadcast partners and listeners.”
