SAP appoints its first Head of Sustainability for APJ

SAP has announced the appointment of Susanna Hasenoehrl as Senior Vice President and Head of Sustainability, Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). The role is a new one, with a dual responsibility: firstly to help SAP's customers and partners using the firm's sustainability solutions to achieve their strategic sustainability goals and meet regulatory requirements, and secondly to drive SAP's own sustainability outcomes and business across the APJ region.

Hasenoehrl comes to SAP from Yara International, one of the world’s biggest agricultural and environmental chemicals companies, where she held the position of Director Asia, Growth & Commercialisation, Digital Farming. She has consulted to enterprises across Asia on sustainable business and climate change and has been closely involved with climate initiatives in recent years, specialising in drawing the links between climate change and business performance.

Paul Marriott, President SAP APJ, said of the creation of the Head of Sustainability role and Hasenoehrl's appointment: “With Asia accounting for more than 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions, it’s critical we focus on helping customers, partners, and governments in the region urgently develop and implement strategies and solutions to address climate challenge. This new role reinforces our ongoing commitment to strengthen our sustainability offering for customers and partners across APJ.”

Hasenoehrl is based in Singapore.
