Randstad appoints Jesús Echevarría as CEO of Spain, Portugal and Latin America

The world’s largest staffing firm, Randstad, has announced the appointment of Jesús Echevarría as CEO of Randstad Spain, Portugal and Latin America.

Currently, Echevarría serves as VP of Randstad Spain, as well as current Managing Director staffing & RIS and Randstad Spain’s Inhouse Services. Previously, Echevarría was a Director of Randstad Work Solutions and a Managing Director at Unitono. In this latest appointment, Echevarría will replace current Randstad Spain, Portugal and Latin America CEO Rodrigo Martín Velayos.

In an official statement, Randstad said: “Under the leadership of Martín, Randstad Spain has reached the position of market leader in both recommendation and turnover and has transformed both in digitisation and in its portfolio of solutions that now cover all needs in the field of HR.” They went on to add that: “Echevarría, who has been a key piece in all the recent evolution of the company, will maintain the firm commitment of the company to the development and implementation of new technologies and to the consolidation of new business lines with customer and employee satisfaction at the center of the business strategy, which has allowed Randstad to become a benchmark company in terms of innovation in human resources.”

Back in December 2020, Randstad reported that their Q4 recovery had been much more rapid than expected, with organic revenue growth down 4% year over year for October and November compared to the 13% decline tracked in Q3.

“This strong improvement in our topline trend is driven by our global market leadership strengthened by a resilient and diversified product portfolio,” CEO Jacques van den Broek said in a statement at the time. Van den Broek attributed this recovery in part to strong ongoing demand for essential services such as healthcare, logistics, food retail and e-commerce. The company also saw increased market share in France and the United States.

At the time of writing, it was unclear precisely when Jesús Echevarría would take up his new role as Spain Spain, Portugal and Latin America CEO.
