Chubb Insurance has announced three new leadership appointments for its Asia Pacific business, all effective from 1 July 2021.

Edward Ler will become Head of Southeast Asia, taking over from Glen Browne, who moved on to head Chubb's consumer lines division for the region. He will be based in Singapore and be responsible for the general management and business results in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Ler has been with Chubb since 2013 and is currently Country President for Chubb in Korea.

Edward Kopp will replace Ler as Country President, Korea. It will be the second time he has held the position. He is currently Regional Head for Accident & Health and was previously Country President, Thailand. Prior to joining Chubb, he held country leadership positions with HSBC in Korea, and with Cigna in Hong Kong and Korea.

Ben Howell will replace Kopp as Regional Head of Accident & Health, Asia Pacific, responsible for the management and development of the accident, health and travel insurance business in the region.

Both Ler and Kopp will report to Paul McNamee, Chubb's Regional President for Asia Pacific, while Howell will report to Glen Browne. McNamee said of the appointments: “In Asia Pacific, we have a deep pool of talented executives as reflected by the appointments of Edward, Ed and Ben.”

He added: “Korea is strategically vital to our ambitions, particularly in the consumer business, and we are fortunate to have Ed return to lead our operations there during such an important phase in our expansion.”
