Indie creative marketplace Etsy has appointed Kim Seymour as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective 26 April  2022. At the same time, Raina Moskowitz has been named Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.

Both roles are newly created by the expansion and segmentation of Moskowitz's previous role as Chief Operations, Strategy and People Officer. The CHRO role will focus on organisational design and building a global team, while the COO role will oversee strategic direction and global marketplace services.

Seymour joins Etsy from WW International, where she was Chief People Officer from March 2019. She has 25 years' experience in the profession, including a stint as Senior Vice President and HR Business Partner at American Express.

Etsy CEO Josh Silverman said of Seymour's appointment: "I've known Kim for many years and have long been impressed with her ability to architect global organizations that align with business objectives while strengthening corporate culture. She is passionate about creating an engaging and rewarding workplace experience, building equitable and diverse teams, and fostering career development opportunities. I do not doubt that Kim will be an invaluable addition to my leadership team."
