Amit Avasthi has joined Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories as Group HR Head and Director HR – CIS Countries and Romania. Amit, who was earlier working with L&T Infotech as Head HR-Emerging Markets and he was leading HR strategy in APAC, ANZ, South Africa, and the Middle East region, joins Dr. Reddys in Kiev, Ukraine.

Speaking to People Matters on his appointment, Amit stated, “Dr. Reddys is a leading Global Generics organization globally and in my new role, I would be working on focusing on delivering on the talent agenda in line with the business strategy for the region, enhancing capability and capacity."

A versatile HR leader with almost 20 years of the proven track record of delivering business impact at top tier MNCs, Amit’s expertise includes Strategic HR Business Partnering, driving large scale complex change transformations, process and efficiency improvements, organization effectiveness and HR Operations across industries.

Prior to joining Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Amit was working with L&T Infotech as Head HR-Emerging Markets and he was leading HR strategy in APAC, ANZ, South Africa, and the Middle East region. He had joined in April 2018.

Before joining L&T Infotech, Amit, who is an alumnus of Symbiosis International University was spearheading the Global HR Strategy for HCL technologies. He has spent over 6 years with HCL in various capacities. Prior to HCL, Amit has also worked with E&Y and Aon Hewitt Consulting.

The pharma giant is banking on growing its business in the emerging markets. In the quarter ended September 2019, the overall growth in the global generics business of the company was led by India and Emerging Markets, which grew by 9 per cent and 10 per cent, respectively.
