Activision Blizzard appoints AIG veteran as CPO

Activision Blizzard, the producer of some of the most famous franchises including World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Candy Crush, Hearthstone, and Overwatch, has appointed Claudine Naughton as the Chief People Officer.

Naughton will directly report to Bobby Kotick, CEO, Activision Blizzard. She happens to succeed Brian Stolz who will be taking up the new role of Senior Adviser for the organization.

“Claudine has an outstanding reputation as a trusted advisor, an accomplished and culturally attuned executive, a passionate mentor, and a truly excellent leader,” said Bobby Kotick, CEO, Activision Blizzard. “I’m excited to welcome Claudine to the team.”

Naughton brings with her an experience of more than 20 years at the American International Group Inc. (AIG), where her most recent role was that of an Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Apart from her latest role in leadership, she has held several other senior leadership roles within the company. She specialized in devising and implementing large scale people strategies for a workforce of more than 50,000 employees spread across 80 countries around the globe.

Her accomplishments at AIG include modernizing and leading the TA and recruitment initiatives, the rewards programs and L&D efforts. She also led the institutionalization of reverse mentoring and robust career development programs within the company. Creating a future-focused culture was her aim.

“My focus is to ensure we are attracting, motivating, and retaining the best and the brightest talent to achieve our goals,” said Naughton about her new appointment.
