Dr. S.K. Mahapatra is the Director of Jaipuria School of Business, a premier management institute
located in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. He is an academic and HR leader with over __ years of
experience in education, power, engineering, and corporate sector. He has achieved a demonstrable
success in various academic areas including political science, human resources, higher education and
corporate leadership.
Dr. Mahapatra possesses a notable career as an academic and management coach. He has been a
lecturer in Political Science at his alma mater SCS College, Puri and has taught Human Resources
Management at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar as Assistant Professor. He is
associated with Jaipuria School of Business since July 2016 where he is shaping the institute’s vision
while setting up an environment of learning and transformation. He is a mentor to many successful
alumni and professionals in management field.
He is known as a strategic thinker in HR for his expertise in managing employee engagement,
industrial relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and mergers & acquisition. Prior
to his stint in academia, he has held senior positions in the corporate sector for over a decade. He
led various leadership and HR roles in big corporate including Bajaj Power Group, Jindal Steel &
Power, POSCO India Pvt. Ltd, and Tata Metaliks Ltd. In 2016, he was felicitated at the 25th World HRD
Congress as one of the ‘Most Influential HR Leaders’ in India.
Dr. Mahapatra is a member of recognized bodies like National Institute of Personnel Management
(NIPM) and The Indian Society of Labour Economics (ISLE). He has also held positions in various
committees of CII Eastern Region and Odisha. He has been on the Board of Studies for Biju Patnaik
University of Technology (BPUT) and KIIT School of Management for Management Education. He was
the President of National HRD Network, BBSR Chapter for six years.
He has a master’s degree in Political Science from University of Delhi and completed his MBA
(PGDM) in National Management Program from M.D.I, Gurgaon. He also holds a master’s degree in
Public Administration and a PG Diploma in Social Work. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2003 from
Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.
