3 keys to success for a post-pandemic remote and hybrid work strategy: Insights from Asia Pacific

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit in early 2020, remote work exploded, as organisations around the world modified roles to be remote-capable. The number of employees working from home multiplied worldwide, and permanently shifted the dynamics of everyday workplace culture. At the time, nobody knew how long it would last.

Prior to the pandemic, only 1 in 4 organisations in APAC had a formal policy to manage alternative work arrangements, while 3 in 10 still lack one. In 2020, almost all organisations had to figure out how a large portion of their workforce could work remotely, yet somehow stay productive and connected to their coworkers until it was safe to return to regular office settings.

A year later, although Covid-19 vaccinations are being deployed and offices are starting to open up, the continued uncertainty of variants means workers are still staying remote or working under a new hybrid model. Organisations and leaders need to rethink and evolve their strategies around remote and hybrid work.

As leaders consider how to adapt their remote and hybrid work policies, there are three areas to address in order to provide employees with the best possible work experiences.

  • Role of leadership in a remote context

  • How to keep people connected
